Hello, how are you? I really like your blog! I was wondering if u might help me (I am positive some other subscribers may also be interested). I would also like to get into blogging also and I at the moment have a blog with wordpress, but it is quite confusing for me to use and I would very much like to attempt to find several good training materials or courses (preferably free) that can hopefully assist me in using Word Press correctly. As a Word Press site owner yourself, do you perhaps know where i can learn tutorials to do this myself?? Thank you

Thanks for posting! I almost fell for this but lucky me I read an article on google’s adsense blog warning about this type of scams and easy money schemes.

I think Sonia is right about this “Mary” on “Tribune news” it sort of targets your city. Mine said “mary” was from Heredia, that is all the way down here in Costa Rica, so I was like wtf theres a city in the states called heredia?

I wish I had found this site before I believed what I thought was a “real” local news article and signed up for a “Google Profits Kit”. Bottom line: after spending the better part of a day trying to cancel the order, I ended up cancelling my credit card. Thank you for creating this site. I’ve bookmarked it.

Someone hacked into my friend’s facebook account. She’s studying in UC Davis. And it so happened that messages were sent from her account to other people’s account about this thing, as if it came from her.

From the screenshot you have of the woman with her kid up there, it says her name is Mary XXXX from San Jose, CA.

Well, this morning when I opened the link, this same woman is called Stephanie Lopez, from Champaign, IL. And that’s because I’m studying in the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign!

It sounded so real, and for graduate students who are almost always living on a tight budget, we are an easy target. And the reason why I almost fell for it is because I have faith in Google for many many years. I’ve got all sorts of accounts with Google, From email, to Blogger, to iGoogle etc.

Gosh. I just hope somebody can put a stop to this. Hasn’t Google done anything about it?

Be sure to keep a close eye on your Debit or Credit card for your refund to ensure that it is honored. I would also keep and eye out for any additional charges in the future. If you are charged anything in the future you will need to dispute the charges with your Debit/Credit card company.

Ok, they did call me back… I cancelled that subscription and the CS rep provided me with a contact number to cancel my subscription for Network Agenda which is open only M-F.

I registered yesterday… I am now trying to cancel everything. The Grant Site’s phone number is intentionally making you wait too long so you lose your patience and hang up. The pauses between the automated prompts take too long so some may assume that they have been disconnected. A customer representative answered the phone and claimed that her computer is not working and promises to call back. I asked for her information; let’s see is she “calls back after she fixes her computer”.

I am such an idiot as I actually tried doing this..I paid my stupid $2.95 for the CD and then just this morning my account was hit for another $81.32…I called them and they said I agreed to the terms and conditions..BUT they don’t show you those when you are purchasing…I have reported them to the BBB but I doubt it will do any good.

the saddest part is, when researching, “Is Working Online At Home The Next Gold Rush?”…. i didnt find this site until the 3rd search page…meaning; there were 20+ links playing into this scam to begin with….

my skepticism is the only reason i found a site clearly stating it was a scam…imagine all the people that scrolled down to find a sea of links and decided right then that this whole concept is legitimate

Mary on Tribune News:

When I first came across that above article, it listed “Mary” as being from my city (Raymondville, Tx.) so I think it targets you using your local area as place of residence for the person they’re featuring, therefore making it more believable.

It’s a shame that the only ones here making $5,000 a month are the people who are scamming good people looking for honest work to enable them to spend more time with their families.
